The Ministries of Calvary Chapel: Missions

Part of every church's mandate is to not only reach their immediate community, but also the ends of the earth. Calvary Chapel does this in two ways, first by supporting career missionaries and outreach-oriented ministries, and secondly by sending members of the church on short term trips.

Short Term Trips

One of the best ways to keep the need of the world before the eyes of the local church is to send its members on short term mission trips. For the past seven years Calvary Chapel has been serving in this way, both by sponsoring individuals going on short term outreach and also by sponsoring their own teams on such trips. In this endeavor we focus mostly on sending short-termers to Poland and Haiti. Some of our past trips:

  • 1998Poland Team One
Building bunk beds and a swing set at Camp Ostruda in Poland, cleaning drainage ditches and painting rooms. Gift: Funds for a new vacuum cleaner and new stoves.

  • 1999Poland Team Two
Building more bunk beds and storage drawers at Camp Ostruda, shingling main building at the camp and refinishing of flag poles. Gift: A computer for the office and funds for finishing roofing job.

  • 2000Calvary Chapel Construction Crew One (a.k.a. “Poland” Team Three)
Began serious interior work on Calvary Chapel's expansion wing and Teen Club Building. Instituted monthly church work days.

  • 2001Calvary Chapel Construction Crew Two (a.k.a. “Poland” Team Four)
Installed handicapped elevator, finished main floor of expansion, renovated old building, cleared land around church.

  • 2002Haiti Team One

  • 2003Haiti Team Two

  • 2004 Haiti Team Three

  • 2004 Poland Team Five “Mission By Quilting”

Career Missions Support

In addition to short term trips, we also sponsor over 50 long-term missionaries and outreach ministries. Our missionaries serve with many different missions organizations, including New Tribes Mission, TEAM, Word of Life, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Partners With Haiti, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. We also support the Camp Joy and Camp Hope of the Children's Bible Fellowship, the Far East Broadcasting Company, and Radio Bible Class.

Because many of our missionaries are in difficult places where they may be exposed to very real dangers of persecution, we do not list their names on our web site. Our missionaries come to visit us whenever they are home on furlough and report regularly as to what they are up to. We post prayer requests on the e-Infonet, our on-line newsletter, which you can sign up for from our contacts page.
